The Herscu Shule's New Stained Glass Windows

shule prior to installation Artistic genius can appear in may forms and we are fortunate to have to fine examples of such genius in the latest addition of the lead glass windows recently installed in the Herscu Shule.

Designed by Melbourne based Israeli artist and academic, Rimona Kedem - the gifted and multi-talented creator of most of the designs of the shule's lead glass windows, and using the theme of '…David Melech Yisrael…' Rimona has captured the spirituality of Jerusalem of old.

Complimenting her unique design, the lead glass fabricator, Ettore di Pilla has used his respected and much acclaimed talents to provide all who view the windows with a very special visual treat.

Rimona and Ettore together hand selected the finest imported glass to create an abstract snapshot that is immediately recognisable as our beloved City of Gold.

Ettore installing windows Ettore's studio is nestled in a rural property among Australian flora and fauna, (outside of Woodend), where he has transferred Rimona's design presentation into a work of art that has brought an aspect of the spirituality of Jerusalem into the historic enclave that we call the Herscu Shule.

We all eagerly await the completion of the artistic exposé with the remaining two clear glass windows becoming coloured lead glass work of at - all expected to be in June 2007.
