Classes

The Leadlight by Ettore studio runs classes in leadlighting, mosaics, glass fusing and slumping.

Weekday Term Classes:

All our term classes are self-paced and students create projects of their choice. Students are shown the basics of glass working (eg; cutting, breaking and grinding glass) and are then assisted in choosing their own project to complete with supervision and assistance. The classes are small and informal to allow students to progress at their own pace and have access to the tutors. None of our Term Classes require any prior knowledge or experience and we encourage adults of all ages and abilities to join our vibrant class groups.

Terms run for 10 weeks in line with the Victorian state school term timetables with sessions held at the following times:
Monday: 10.00am-12.00pm Afternoon: 1.00pm-3.00pm Evening: 7.30pm-9.30pm
Tuesday: 10.00am-12.00pm
Wednesday: 10.00am-12.00pm Evening: 7.30pm-9.30pm
Thursday: 1.00pm-3.00pm

Term classes must be booked via email, phone, or in-person to ensure spaces in your choice of class are available.

Weekend Workshops

Our weekend courses focus on a specific style of glassworking or a related group of skills, to complete a sample project. These courses provide participants with the opportunity to learn a new skill and create a finished artwork. Our classes are suitable for beginners unless stated otherwise.

Some of our regular courses include creating a Leadlight Panel, Copperfoil (Tiffany) Lamp, Copperfoil Light Catchers, Copperfoil Boxes, Fused Glass Platters & Homewares, Fused Glass Jewellery, Mosaic Wall Hanging, Mosaic Stepping Stone as well as a range of Parent & Child classes where an adult can accompany an Under 16y/o and complete a project each.

Private Group Glass Art Classes:

We regularly run private group classes for both organisations and family and friend groups. From team building activities to a girls weekend away we run sessions for groups of 4 or more in glass fusing, slumping, mosaics, or lead lighting. Workshops can run from 2 hours to 2 days depending on your choice of activity or time and budget.

Artist In Residence

Leadlight By Ettore runs both one-off incursions as well as term-long projects with primary and secondary schools across Victoria. We have worked in Government, Catholic and Private schools across the state in lead lighting, mosaics and glass fusing. If your school is looking for a different end of year project or for your students to create a lasting art piece for your school please get in contact with us to discuss your options.
